Maritime Career Market | 5 + 6 September 2024

Enthralling. International. You at the heart of it.

Do you love the ocean, ships and modern technology? Can you imagine tackling something big alongside others and learning something new time and again? We are delighted that you want to look into your career prospects in an industry that is more varied than almost any other: worldwide, the maritime economy transports more than 90% of all handled goods, takes people to their holiday destinations and leads researchers to new discoveries.

On land and at sea, it offers intriguing possibilities on the path to green shipping – meaning that it’s becoming more sustainable, more digital and even more integrated with other industries such as renewable energies. If you want to help shape the future, you’ve come to the right place.

Training. Academic study. Job profiles.

At the Maritime Career Market, you can look forward to a tailored programme: leading companies and universities provide information on future-oriented training and study options and look forward to getting to know you. At no other trade fair for professional guidance is the maritime industry represented as completely as it is here.

At the Career Forum, you’ll get exciting insights into various themes during presentations and talks – from job profiles and starting salaries to work–life balance and on-the-job development opportunities. Here, you’ll get a genuine feel for everything a maritime career has to offer.

Pay nothing – do everything:

Free entry

In our ticket shop, school pupils, students and teachers can order free tickets to enter the Maritime Career Market on 5 + 6 September.

Entry to SMM, the leading international maritime trade fair, is also free of charge on both days! Please have your pupil/student ID to hand at the entrance.

Free travel – or really cheap

Travel

It doesn’t get any cheaper than this: from September 2024, all school pupils registered in Hamburg can travel through the city free of charge on buses and trains belonging to the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (hvv) public transport network, and even across the country on local and regional transport. You can order the free hvv Deutschlandticket on the hvv website from August.

Anyone under 27 coming from elsewhere can travel by train, for example, at the Super Young discount price.

We are here

There’s plenty going on across the entire trade show site for SMM, with more than 40,000 specialists from all over the world meeting to see the latest technical developments in the maritime industry.

A little tip: the best way to reach the Maritime Career Market on the upper floor of hall B2 is via the Central Entrance. Opposite the Maritime Career Market is where you’ll find the Open Stage – this is where the Career Forum programme takes place, as well as the Career Happy Hour.
